Something a little different..
Thought I'd post this 5x7, it's been a while since I painted an alpine scene. Must be the cold weather making we wish for blue skies and rising trout. Actually this outlet held many nice brookies. Happy dreaming...
Here's a new sketch, (5x7) of the Vermillion Cliffs area near Marble Canyon. I love the abstract quality that comes from the rock face and ground cover. This piece was brought about by a tiny thumbnail pencil sketch that I did a number of years ago. (actual size of the pencil is 1"x1", about what you are viewing it at) It took some simmer time to bring it to fruition. Enjoy. This work is now SOLD.
I had fun painting this one. It was a challenge, but worth it. The backlighting was fun, and adding color into the shadows is always nice. So take a look, and like the others and most everything else I paint, it is for sale. This work is now SOLD.
Recently finished "postcard"(5x7) painting. This one was inspired by the area just east of Kanab, Johnson Canyon. I have spent many evenings there, watching the light hit the bluffs..truly a magical time. This one is also for sale. $200 Thanks for looking.
ps. I've had inquiry concerning the recent 15 Bytes spot, people wanting to see the painting of Ron Russon's that I mention. Make sure you click on his link to the right, to view the painting.
